Lincolns Inn Field
The new head office, bought for NZ$3m in 2004, for Thomas More Chambers is a Grade II, 5 storey terraced property dating from the early to mid 18th Century. The full refurbishment of the property commenced in 2004 and was completed in 2005. Finbo were retained by the Contractor to assist with the Construction Management.
The existing interior architecture is sympathetically enhanced. The opening up of the ground floor reception rooms using glass screens and curved cornice extends the impact of the existing curved storage cupboards and is complimented throughout with replacement flooring, intricate plastering finishes and updated electrical and mechanical installations. The library to the front first floor boasts ceilings and walls restored by specialist decorations consultant Curtis Bran who have delicately balanced the medallions and friezes. Bespoke furniture by Contrax Furniture is provided throughout. The Contractor worked to a tight deadline in order that the Chambers were able to move out of their existing premises and into their new ones as planned having additionally absorbed a substantial amount of additional work in the process.
